4 Everyday Ways to Keep Your Face Clean
Posted in Skin Care
Keeping your face clean and healthy may seem pretty straightforward. However, there is a lot more to it than just rubbing a bit of soap on and splashing some water. Depending on your skin
type, you may be causing dry skin, breakouts, or bumps. In honor of National Healthy Skin Month, the Spa at Spring Ridge is happy to share some face cleaning secrets with you to improve the look and feel of your skin.
Choose a Cleanser
First, you want to rid your face of all the dirt, dead skin, and oil that accumulates on your face each and every day. Since every person’s skin is a bit different, you may want to try a few different cleansers to see how your skin reacts. Cleansing should clean your face without drying it out. If you notice that your cleanser is leaving redness or patches of dry skin, you will want to switch to a less-harsh face wash.
Don’t Overdo It
Don’t over clean your skin. Once a day before you go to bed is the perfect time to wash your face. If you had a particularly active day, you may wash your face twice. The key is not to let heavy makeup stay on your face for a particularly long time. It can clog your pores, leaving you with oily skin and pimples.
Chill Out
While splashing your face with hot water may feel particularly relaxing, it can strip the beneficial oil from your face. This can lead to dry and aggravated skin. Instead, splash your face with cold or cool water. Cold water has many health benefits for your skin and hair that can keep you looking and feeling great!
Exfoliate Regularly
Use a mild scrub to exfoliate your skin at least once a week. A good exfoliation will help you remove dead skin and deep grime and leave you with an outstanding glow. You don’t need to scrub hard. A gentle rub will do the trick. Make sure to moisturize afterwards to prevent your skin from drying out.
